Our work Plant and Weed Identifier Robot as an Agroecological Tool Using Artificial Neural Networks for Image Identification got published in the Special Issue Journal Artificial Neural Networks in Agriculture.
BioThesis is a research award formed by group of industry research organisations and universities to support innovation in the field of organic industry that has an impact on the entire food value chain in future. It is a pleasure and honour to receive first place for our work.
With the available funds we are currently procuring the robot hardware and necessary equipment to bring the first version of the EcoTerrabot live.
We developed a real time deep learning based plant and weed identifier using state-of-the-art object detection techniques for three plant and weed species and extracted their stem coordinates in the image frame.
Using image processing techniques and opencv we developed a crop row detection technique that helps EcoTerrabot to navigate between the crop rows.
